Which convicted criminal deserves to be pardoned, and why?

It's quite common to pardon people posthumously.
Who should get a pardon?
Jesus?
Socrates?
Raphael Lasar?
Nominate your own.

Be sure to say why.

All "criminals" that were convicted for non-violent "crimes" where nobody else was directly harmed.

Why? It should go without saying.

Those dudes who killed between 9,000-30,000 people in Argentina should be pardoned.

Definitely.

Makes perfect sense.

The pardon was ruled unconstitutional by their supreme court, though.

Heh, I didn't know that until just now.

My, time flies. It seems like just yesterday that the pardon was issued...

of course
however if they were convicted properly to start with, why should they be let out early?

Of course, for Jesus, it was crucifixion.

Still, his conviction could be overturned posthumously, and his criminal record cleared.

Robert Latimer

www.robertlatimer.net

He euthanized his severely disabled daughter who was living a life of unendurable pain.

He had a jury that was reluctant to convict him, but too stupid to understand what would happen if they did convict him.

He had a judge who tried to defy the mandatory penalty for the crime of which he was convicted (second degree murder), because he so obviously did not deserve such a penalty. The over-zealous prosecutors appealed and succeeded in getting the mandatory penalty of life imprisonment imposed.

He was penalized by a parole board that was obsessed with the notion that you must feel remorse, and say that what you did was wrong, to be paroled.

He clearly poses no danger to anyone, and needs to be restored to his family.
