Nimbus makes the ISIS venture cranks in a bunch of small sizes now so you would have a lot of options. They aren't moments but they would be good for hockey.

I think the frame would be a problem for more freestyle oriented riders like me, it´s so far away from the tire, all stand up tricks would me much harder. The crank option is good, because all riders are different, but i think many freestyle/flat riders would prefer shorter cranks like 100mm or 90mm.
I would be very interested in a uni like that, because i destroyed many of the conventional freestyle uni´s by practicing some flat tricks

Note that the new Numbus cranks are available in 90mm and 100mm (here), so this is hopefully no longer a problem. They look beefy enough, and the shorter length makes them less vulnerable to bending anyway.

I think flat is a more longtime kill whereas street just kill quickly and painfully.. My unis always get so worn out so they are bent everywhere and the screws always loosen up, pedals and cranks are twisted and the frame is bent, seatclamp dont work and the seat cover is killed together with the bumber and foam. So flat kills unis

sure, i killed my hub, my seat + seat post and some spokes! oh and my rim has some blains...
all the hopping (practicing unispin or something like that) kills all square hubs... i´m not the only person, who kills freestyle unis with flat...

I just reread this whole thread to remind myself what was going to make this UNI different. After having spent the last month 'window' shopping for a 20" with a nice beefy tire (but not as beefy at trials/street), I do believe there is a niche that is not being filled for a versatile 20" goofing around on, hockey/basket ball, riding in small spaces uni.
To piece together what I want from UDC puts me close to the price range of a KH, so I might have to wait for this. I think there is a hole that is not filled easily by a comercially available UNI, the question is how big is that 'hole' and will people buy a jack of all, master of none Uni especially at KH prices (a bit of a sticking point for me) KH, any update on availability? Any updates on design decisions? |

Hey,
The KH20 flatland setups are being manufactured right now and should come out around April. It comes with the Grifter, wide 47 mm 20" rim, 110 Moments and twisted PC pedals. For versatility reasons I stayed with the KH20 longneck frame rather than making a specialized frame, to keep riders able to switch between a flatland and trials setup if they want both without having to have two frames. Thanks for the update. Argh, till April??? Itchy for a 20" NOW...
Guess good things are worth waiting for. Is it going have the Freeride or Street seat? Last edited by ezas; 2010-01-16 at 03:43 AM. |

So, if I already have a KH longneck would it be worth it to just get the wheelset?

Yeah, it would be more convenient to have a full uni because its a little annoying to switch wheels all the time, but only buying the wheel is obviously way cheaper. |

April is almost over. Any updates on availability of this new design?
