Do You Believe In Miracles?

Got a re-roofing job to do. So I was sitting on the roof on the garage really getting into laying the shingles when I set the nail gun down between my legs with the nozzle inadvertently pointing toward my crotch. For some reason, the gun fired, ejecting a nail at a very high rate of speed.

When I looked down, my faith grew by leaps and bounds…

Bruce Edwards posts after long hiatus. Yes, I believe in miracles. How's it going, old pal?

Wouldn't his luck be neutral? Afterall it did fire off at his crotch in the first place.

Neutral luck...give me a break!

Yes, miracles do happen, and it looks like you were on the bright side of one.

Especially when it appears that nail was destined to pierce one hose or another. Glad to hear from you, and glad you're OK.

I think I can sum up that shot in one word:

WHEW!!!

Glad that hose was there! Now you have something to think about on nail gun safety, I guess. Now I think I know why my friend, Andy Jennings the unicycling roofer, is usually on his knees (with kneepads) while doing that.

If nail guns were outlawed only outlaws would have nail guns.

Hiya, Greggie! It's going great!! I'm having the time of my life. Wish I had done this 30 years ago.

Today I'm a bit sore after roofing almost 30 square of shingles between last weekend and this one. But the job's finally done and I can mark it off the list.

I stay in Bradley, IL through the week and come home to Rochelle on the weekends, so work sort of piles up. About the middle of summer, we'll all leave 20 years of Rochelle behind and move permanently to Bradley, IL.

I'm taking a class in writing educational research proposals, so I have some homework I can do. Other than that, I call home or watch TV. Sometimes I multitask and do both at once.
