I think tomorrow I am going to try freemounting or maybe later today. If I find something that is helpful I'll tell you.... but it probably won't happen.

I went out to practice again for about 30 min and went down to a long stretch of blacktop to try to ride longer since I was running out of room on my sidewalk. I was thinking as I went down there that there wasn't any good place to mount. So I tried to free mount on the way down. I was on a slight hill. It was a grassy hill. Anyway I made the free mount and rode away. If you were having the same problems as I was having on the occasional freemount I would try(not being able to ride away) I think this helped because you could half roll away. When I got down to the black top stretch, I tried to free mount again and got it two times out of a couple tries. Then when I went back to my house, I freemounted 6 more times. Anyway, I don't know if this will help but, you might want to try it on a slight hill.

P.S. I got 26 revs on the blacktop!

But today i rode my A$$ off.
1)I figured out how easy 1 foot riding was
2)I fell hard 1 foot riding
3)Got 5 revolutions in thirty minutes of trying.
4)Working of SIF hopps getting more confortable with them.
5)Figured out rolling hopps.

My ankle is almost perfect again, I landed on my leg fulyl extended when I fell off the back of my uni riding backwards, and it almost hyper-extended. I've injured it in the past pretty badly, but I wasn't able to ride today either, maybe tomorrow.

I want an 8 year old to watch learning to freemount. Come on, where's the vid?

Today I made my own vid of my trials and tribulations.

Tyler,

How do you learn to ride with 1-foot?

At this point when I take my other foot off the pedal I fall. It works very well.

Nice vid Susan! Now I know why I'm learning slow. I've had zero bad falls except jamming my ankle. I only fell 4 times since I've been riding and all have been a gentle onto the knee or roll onto the butt. My hands never touched the ground. So guess I'm just a wus and thats why I dont mount more successfully.

To be honest, I made the vid over the weekend and tried to act out the falls. I ended up taking some spectacular crashes and it left me with more bruises than I experienced when I was really learning. Despite that, it was fun doing the video, and my friends, colleagues, and neighbours have all had a laugh at my expense.

Hi Susan,

Great video! I liked the uplifting music towards the end. All the falls at the beginning were fun to watch--we have all been there.

What is the white stuff on your driveway? Is it sand from a nearby beach?
