California is the best state. Gay marriage is now legal.

I'm also not gay, but I'm glad to hear that gays can marry now in California. Don't see why they shouldn't be able to, the people opposing it aren't affected by it.

Just read this in the same report:
"The question is whether the court will acknowledge that this is going to be on the ballot in November and stay its hand," Pugno said. "It's really to no one's benefit to legalize same-sex marriage for four months if the voters are ultimately going to amend the constitution. That would just create chaos and great uncertainty about the status of those marriages." |

A lesbian couple that I know lives in Cali and have been engaged for years. They've been waiting anxiously for this day and they are going to run to the courthouse ASAP.

I'm still on the fence as far as gay marriage. Right now if it came to a vote in Colorado, I would not vote on it.
I do agree that they deserve the same right as a male/female married couple in the eyes of the law. I'm much more comfortable with a civil union. |
