Custom Unicycle

So I want to make a custom unicycle. Does anyone have some info that can help me including a list of all the parts I'll need?

Wait a minute. Is rim strip necessary? I don't have one and it's fine. What does it actually do?

it stops your tube from getting punctured on sharp edges on the inside of the rim. Absoloutely essential for single wall rims where the tube sits against the nipples, still a very good idea for double wall rims where the holes the nipples pass through often have sharp edges. I wouldn't go without one.

I haven't heard of rim tapes on Qu-AX unicycles so far. Does anyone have the tape on their Qu-ax rim?
