At least you're honest.

I really suck, but that's okay.
It's just a hobby anyway!

I ride along the river bank
I'm not that good, in fact , I'm...

...no, we'll try something else.

As I ride, I see a duck...

Nope...

Er...

My proper name is Michael,
I ride a unicycle
I sometimes ride it in the wood
I sometimes fall off (I'm no good)
I sometimes ride it by the lake
(But not too fast, it's got no brake)
I ride beside the river too
And post my stories, just for you.

Keep on telling us your uni tales,
Mikefule they are so sweet,
I feel like I'm riding with you (from Wales)
Maybe someday we'll meet.

Sorry. It just 'happened'

A haiku I wrote last year:

Legs pump rhythmicly
Road flashes beneath my wheel
One with the machine

Just had a little spark of inspiration to write a new uni poem. Based on actual events.

"A true state of mind"

By Terry Peterson
7/29/12

A one-wheeled adventure, a never ending quest
To reach for the pinnacle, life’s ultimate test
MUni’s a sport and it’s one of a kind
Engrained in my soul; a true state of mind

My life had been empty with nothing to show
Depressed and discouraged and nowhere to go
I thought to myself, “now what can I do?”
About to turn 50, then out of the blue….!

…I grabbed my old schwinn and blew off the dust
This uni was old and covered with rust
I pumped up the tire and to my surprise
I was able to mount it, after one or two tries!

Forty years had gone by since I’d ridden before
I hadn’t a clue about what was in store!
It’s now been six years and I haven’t looked back
I see a bright future, where once it was black.

Couple more recent uni-poems:

“Disappear”
By Terry Peterson

Brittle leaves crunching under my wheel
Splashing through a golden stream crossing

Riding free under the shady canopy of pine trees
Escaping the incessant drone of the rat race

Peace and solitude waits for me here
Away from the concrete and artifice of the city

Why can’t I stay here forever?
Riding into the future until I disappear…

“Riding Forever”
By Terry Peterson

MUni’s my drug and a natural high
Nothing can equal the thrill
Living the dreams that money can’t buy
I can never quite get my fill

Ready to roll at the summit of life
The trailhead beckons me on…
My wheel digs in as it cuts like a knife
Blazing the journey till dawn

Now in my autumn the years melt away
Can’t dwell on what might have been
Riding forever and living each day
I’d do it all over again!

Unicyle verse, in the form of Japanese haiku...

rock in road ahead
pedals twirling, I not see
I am on ass
