A long ride today with lots of people about so lots of comments, one or two even managed to be quite original.

My favourite, which was a new one, "your back wheel's caught up with your front". Quite surprising as it came from one of a group of guys drinking beer next to a narrowboat who all looked rather rough.

Other amusing one was "that must be hard work after you've done a mile". I could only reply "It is, and I've done about 8 miles already".

Yeah, and no helmet law. Bare heads on rented Harley Davidsons!

Today in the lovely sunshine and unusually warm weather for an Easter, I was passing a wooden bridge over a canal between two lakes. I walked over it, because it is too steep for me to ride over. On the top a man stood looking at the water and the people in the canoos.

When he saw me he said: "I don't have any comments ..." Then, with a friendly smile, he made a thumps up - and added: "But it is impressive!"

Best regards,
Sanne

Yesterday as I was resting beside my new 36er, a lady came up and asked me if I could ride it. Then she said "You must have big melons"..... I had to ask her twice what she said because I thought it was so awkward that she was talking about my man breasts, they're not that big are they?

Maybe she has received the same remark, and never understood it.

She was probably fishing for compliments on her own melons.

The Easter weather in Denmark has really been excellent! Is this the bridge?

I found out my 36er box is in another city when I went to pack it up yesterday, so it's stuck in my university town 200km away for now; today's ride was on my dad's bike.

So I was out with my sister, and I got this idea to try and use my feet to steer on the handlebar. Soon we were both coasting along with no appendages below the top tube. After passing a couple people, we both realized that doing so gets exactly the same kinds of reactions as when I'm on my unicycle.

A very little kid, spoken with an amusing inflection: "woah! what is that?". I really felt like I had to have been on my unicycle.

Yes, exactly. Right at Nybro Kro.

I can imagine that you can't ride that bridge up. The slope is 24%.

Not only that. There is placed narrow wood boards across with 20 cm distance to make it easier for pedestrians to walk without slipping.

Best regards,
Sanne

As can be seen on this picture (along with some of my colleagues on a wet company picnic last summer):
