Level 2.9 here. I need to learn one more mount and learn to get to stomach on seat from standard riding then I'm level 3. This is addictive.

Not even level 1.
I can not free mount yet. I am still mouting using assistance(garbage can). I can ride 200ft. Trying to go further, want to be able to make it around the block. I get about 5 hours a week practice. Torker lx 24" |

put your weight on the seat, get it in a comfortable postion.
try getting off, getting on in the stomach on seat position while holding on to a wall and then ride off.

Been off the board for a little bit - nothing much new to report. Mostly level 1 now - trying idling but will be off the uni for a long while when I have surgery next month.

Wait, a beginner at level 2? Almost level 3?
I would easily be level one if it weren't for my glorious battles with the freemounting demons. Sometimes spot on--sometimes, oh nuts..... Forever a beginner...(but once I'm up and running, with no reason to stop, it's cruise city.)

What do all these "Levels" mean? Is there a special unicycle organization where you demonstrate your level and you get a certificate? Is it like the color belt system in Karete?
I have not even started, and the level stuff has me scared. Karl Last edited by Uni_farmer; 2004-09-29 at 04:03 PM. |

The ten skill levels are basically a way of determining how good you are at freestyle riding and how difficult various moves are. Check out unicyclist.org and click on "levels." There is a video clip for each skill on each level.

Been riding for nearly a year now. I still count myself as a beginner, even though I can freemount, idle on either foot and ride backwards.
I haven't learned anything new since May, mainly because I only ever ride in and round juggling clubs hall. To this day I've never ridden in my hometown. I'd love to, but I just wish I wasn't so bloody shy... |
