Hey, as long as we're on the theme of Tom trying to convince JJuggle to buy even more John Gorka, I'd say that Temporary road is tied for third on my personal stack rank, along with Company You Keep. In 2nd place is "Between Five and Seven", and in 1st place is "Jack's Crows". They're both really good IMO, and a clear notch above Temp Road. You're a word guy, which is why I thought you'd like John. I think he's produced some pretty profound writing, and some decent humor and human-condition introspection as well.

From Jack's Crows, you might be able to relate to his non-hit-single "I'm from New Jersey". An excerpt:

"I'm from New Jersey. I don't expect too much.
If the world ended today, I would adjust...."

I like that.

Interestingly, or not as the case may be, I listen first to the music. If the work resonates with me musically, then the first step has been taken and then I start to concentrate on the lyrics. I will accept lyrics that aren't that great if the music is good though, but not visa-versa (often). On Temporary Roads, which I've given 3 runs through, the lyrics didn't impress me that much.

OK, if I can get "Jack's Crows" without laying out cash I'll give Gorka another chance.
