I'm on the edge of ordering my first Uni! (yay!) I've decided upon the United
24" Adult Trainer found at unicyclesource.com . However, I am wondering if a 26" wheel can be put in place of the 24". I'm thinking yes, but I wonder if it'd be coming to close up to the neck of the fork or not. And after that my only concern is, which colour should I get my Viscount seat in!!?? I'm thinking I might play it safe and stick with black, blue is nice too, so is red but yellow is definately off my list. I suppose it'd be fun to have all three and keep them on different seat posts and swap them as the mood fits. But I'm not that wealthy ![]() |

But I'm not that wealthy I just got the United 24" Adult Trainer for Large adults (with the yellow seat by the way - very cool! You should rethink your color choices <grin>) - it arrived just three days ago. Eyeballing my fork, I'd say there is NOT enough clearance for a 26" tire, especially if it's nobby. I'm an absolute beginner myself so I was anxious to start riding right away despite the fact that it's muy frio outside, and there's been snow on the ground. I decided to cover my seat with a couple of old socks while I was learning. I'm glad I did as it's now been sent flying several hundred times. The socks are beat up but the seat looks fine. The only thing that looks a little worse for wear after all the abuse I've dished out over the last few days are the Union pedals. These are plastic and I've already broken bits of 'em off. Anyhow, I'm somewhere between levels 2 and 3 of Rick Bessel's "new" IUF skill levels ( see http://www.unicycling.com/iuf/levels.htm ), I'll be sure to update y'all when I finally get that free mount down! Maybe then the snow will melt. ![]() > I decided to cover my seat with a couple of old socks while I was learning. > I'm glad I did as it's now been sent flying several hundred times. Wow, several hundred times in three days? You go to sleep yet? Of course not, what was I thinking ![]() So that's one vote for yellow seat... |

Re: Frame size vs. Wheel size or What Colour Is Your Seat?
Be very very happy that the Viscount seats don't come in Miyata green. Miyata
seat owners would do almost anything just to have a choice of a different color. :-) My favorite color for the Viscount is red but I'd love to have a blue seat on my 20" uni to match the blue Primo tire. While learning be sure to protect the seat with socks or some sort of cover for protection form all the falls. However, don't put duct tape directly on the seat because you'll never get the sticky goo off the seat later. It is also good to replace the screws that hold the bumpers on with similar screws that are slightly larger in diamter but the same length. Do this before the seat takes the abuse you are about to subject it to by learning to ride. If you do this the bumpers will hold up fairly well, if you don't the bumpers will likely not survive your attempts at learning to ride. john_childs >From: hidden7 > >I'm on the edge of ordering my first Uni!
