I don't like camelbaks that much. Platypus bladders are better in so many ways but the whole freezer thing sounds like a great tip.

After several muni upgrade I had one left uni without wheel.

I only bought sales K1 hub and took off rim from useless MTB wheel and spokes from an other useless MTB whell then I assembled my city 26":

.

As I have been living for years in a flat city brake aren't needed for city moves but having useless HS33 I decided to adapt them, for the challenge and to sew how the tire will perform for cross country in dry condition with this narrow rim.
After several test (wood, acrylic) I found 2 pieces of Aluminum L sections, external dimension matching my needs. After a couples of hour (drill, hand saw and files) I have my own magura extenders :

Not very fast due to the 125mm cranks but I play with every sidewalk edge (hop or skinny) so it's ok for me now. If I'm in a hurry I'll bike or motorbike.

I have a QX 24 inch muni which I absolutely love for heavy duty / tech muni. Recently, I've decided I need another uni to cover everything from XC, AM to Enduro. Basically it will be a KH26 guni with a lighter wheelbuild.

Schwalbe Hans Dampf 26x2.35, Trailstar, 765g, (people seem to like this tire and it fits my needs)
Dartmoor Revolt Rim: 525g, 27 mm inner width (very light for a DH rim and pretty wide for bike standards)
DT Swiss Competition 2.0-1.8mm Spokes
DT Brass Nipples 2mm x 12mm
Schlumpf/KH Hub

I will start with a light DH tube. Depending on how many flats I'll have, I'll try tubeless or if possible go with a lighter tube. If I'll have too many flats and tubeless doesn't work out, I could upgrade to the Super Gravity version but for now I will go with the lighter Hans.

Brake: Disc Brake Avid Elixir 3, 180mm (got it cheap)
Pedals: Try All Simple Cage Elite or similar cage pedals (I ride with hiking boots)

The rest will be stock KH26 more or less.

So far I've only bought the disc brake. Do you see any problems or contradictions in my planned specs? I'm open to any suggestions

Do you know how much that thing weights? :P

I'm thinking about switching my Schlumpf hub into a 26" wheel. I'm riding 24x3", on the geared hub it's pretty heavy I'm also using a super heavy DH tube, I'd probably go Tubeless if I had a 26". I'm waiting for my KH spirits, I'll be adding the Disk Brake in the next few weeks!

It weights 6.8 kg with brake and a heavy DH tube. If I get a flat during the next few months I will also try tubeless
