Which hand do you use for hopping?

When you hop, which hand grips the seat to pull it up?

This isn't specified in any tutorials I've seen. I'm wondering if its better to use the same hand as your dominant foot (the one you use to mount), or the opposite? Or just whichever one is more comfortable? --which I'm having trouble deciding.

Does it have anything to do with which foot is in front?

My left foot is in front and I hop with my left hand.

@beefybij: I think it would be better if you asked this question relative to your foot hoping position rather than mounting position. The two can be quite different foot dominance wise.

What does this mean? I keep my dominant foot (bottom pedal when mounting/idling) as the back pedal when hopping.

Which foot do you suggest is dominant when hopping, the back pedal or front pedal?

It is different for all people, my bottom pedal when mounting is my front foot.

I am right side dominant for almost everything. I just started learning hoping, and I am left foot forward with left hand on seat.

When I hop I am most comfortable with my right foot forward holding on with my right hand. If I jump left foot forward I still prefer to use my right hand.

Im actually a lefty but unicycle right foot and hand dominant due to a dodgy first uni with a loose crank.

Apparently, I'm an oddball. (What else is new?) I hop right foor forward, gripping the handle with my left hand.

Maybe I'll have to try the other way and see how it feels.

Right hand and right foot. Can do it with my left hand, but it doesn't feel right.

I can hop with either but in general my left hand is on the handle.(I'm right foot dominant btw) but I can also hope no handed by handing the seat tightly between my legs, I can only get 4-5 hops like this tho.

Yeah, no handed is hard. I can only do about 4-5 too, and it kinda hurts.

Most people voted for same hand as dominant foot, but still seems very split.

Also its weird when I hop up/down stuff (sidehop), I'm way more comfortable leading with my undominant foot side.
