If you're saving money and not planning on using an external disk brake, go with the Moments. They're heavy, but they're amazing cranks. I dont feel the 2mm difference in Q-Factor between my older Moments and my new Spirits.

Does anyone notice the weight difference on the same uni between the two cranks?

That depends on your riding style. If you mostly ride downhill and don't hop a lot, you might not notice. For up-and-down XC, it it is somewhat noticeable, and cumulatively it probably helps save energy although that's hard to quantify. Because cranks rotate, the weight savings is more noticeable than if it was static (e.g. if it came off the frame). Hopping over things the weight reduction is definitely noticeable.

I don't get to muni as much as I'd like, with kids and all, and only in the past few years have I done muni at all, but I prefer pretty technical stuff and like to go up and downhill. I think the 137s are good because they are a good balance between leverage and smooth pedling. The 150s are just a little to choppy. The 24 with 137s is a good compromise between smooth rolling, like a 26, and the pure agility of the 24. I find I can still hop pretty well with the 137s and am looking to lose rotational weight esp. since I use the duro tire. I wouldn't want to trade that in because I like the ability to do natural trials when I can.

So I'll order the 137 Spirits today from UDC. $40 more won't break the bank, and they'll last forever.

My 137 Spirits came on Friday. I put them on today and had a great ride with them on my 24 with munimag and Jimmythechimp at Schaffer Farms in MD.

At first I was worried that I would miss the leverage of the 150s, but they soon proved themselves to be perfect. More speed than the 150s, easier going uphill and getting momentum for jumps, with just enough leverage for hopping logs too. I did not find myself missing the 150s.

For my skill level, fitness level, and body type the 24 with 137mm cranks are muni Nirvana. Glad I got the Spirits. They are really light, no ankle strikes and are actually beautifully machined objects that look great on the Oracle24. The transformation is complete now with the new cranks and the KH street seat. Couldn't be more satisfied. Hope this post helps someone in the future considering the switch.

So been riding the Oracle24 a lot both muni and street with the 137s. Got to thinking I should try with the 150s. So I put back the stock 150s that came with the uni. I thought maybe I could use a bit more leverage, and....I hated them. Back to the 137s. You really don't lose much in the way of leverage, but gain a lot more fun with the shorter cranks.

Also the speed lost with the 150s make rolling hops quite a bit more challenging. I do those more than static hops these days anyway.

As long as your climbs are not exceptionally steep and you run a brake on the downs, shorter cranks are fine, esp with such a small wheel. You might even want to try 125's...

I rarely use my brake on my 24, just on very steep hills when doing muni. Actually most of my oracle's use lately has been jaunts of less than a mile in urban environments. Very fun.
