Mecanismo de 20" e 26" são iguais?

Olá pessoal,
tinha um monociclo de 20" que usei pra aprender a andar, mas era preciso pedalar muito pra percorrer curtas distâncias, entao resolvi trocar o garfo e o conjunto da roda pensando que isso ia melhorar a performance, virou um 26". Me enganei, melhorou um pouco, mas nao ficou nem perto de um equipamento adequado pra andar longas distancias.
Gostaria de saber o que preciso trocar pra poder aumentar o rendimento.
