oh ok, my brother is a very serious cross country runner, his races seem to vary from 8 to 12km depending on the exact event.

that's not bad. i was injured every year for various reason so my times sucked. i think my pr was like 20:10 or something like that. that was with a fractured foot.

I ran XC as a freshman, thankfully our school added fall soccer for the balance of my HS career. I think Bill Cosby summed up XC the best with something like this:

"XC is not a good spectator sport. Why would you want to watch a race where the contestants run 2 1/2 miles just so they can throw up?"
