maybe the speed camera thingy was measuring the speed of his forward pedal stroke or the top of his wheel as it was coming towards the camera, which would give a false, faster reading ?

maybe.

You have to start with the question of why they're filming this. Is it to "prove" a certain speed? I doubt a radar sign is the best way to do that. Or did they set up in that particular spot because the sign was malfunctioning and giving a "funny" speed?

I couldn't make out the numbers on the sign myself. Also the view of the guy pedaling was pretty brief. I get the slight impression that he's on a geared Coker, but it's really not enough information to tell.

And to a non-unicycling audience, that clip would be meaningless. Nerd humor at its best!

make the screen you can see it at 29, its miles per hour to. it says by the 30 mph on the speed limit sign. I believe it was going that fast, you would have trouble going that fast on a bike. Plus some people who coast have gone way faster, definity if there name started with a Y, and had a rope on a car going extremely fast for a 20 inch.

If you look at composite speeds from the Tour de France type races you will see that for somewhat flat courses (not time trial where the guys can burn it up), 30 MPH is a very fast average. You ever actually ridden a bike, on the flats, at 30MPH. There are not a whole lot of folks who can actually spin that fast. And this businees about tons of guys riding a 36 at or near 30 MPH is, in my mid, total crap.
