So, anyway...
A couple of weeks ago I went for my regular DSD* check-up. The results on my liver tests were a little high. Nit really surprising considering the amount of alcohol I imbibe. So the doc tells me I need a liver biopsy. "No problem, what's that all about?" I ask. "Well that's where we take a sample of your liver and send it off for tests." Okaaaay, and how exactly do you take this sample?" You can tell I'm getting a little nervous here, right? "Well, we cut you open with a machete and then we... ahahaha, just kidding, we give you a local anaesthestic and stick a probe into you." "You really need to work on that bedside manner doc..." Suffice to say the 'probing' part wasn't much fun, but there were pretty nurses involved, so it wasn't all bad. Got my test results back today. Remarkably, my liver is in perfect working order, no horrible diseases or potentially fatal conditions, just a little 'fat'. Really not sure how to take that. It's like saying you have an ugly pancreas. So celebrations are in order. What kind of celebrations? What kind do you think? Why, the alcoholic kind of course! (like you had to ask) PS, No, there's no cool scar. *Dirty stinkin' diabetic

Good to hear it's all still in working order Blue.
Recently started listening to the comedy of Jim Jeffries. At one point he discusses the conversatioon where his doctor told him that his liver was enlarged. "Good", he says, "cause I drink a #$%^load" He's worth a watch if you're not unduly sensitive. |

I'll check him out. My latest comedian obsession is Louis CK. He's also worth a watch, but you need very, very thick skin.

Normally my Mondays suck, but today wasn't too bad. I'm sort of in-between projects at work so I spent today in a kind of free-form mode, ramping up for my next project but focusing on learning some things that I wanted to learn.
