They are nice but I've heard real good things about Islabikes. Congrats on getting your kids to share your passions. I'm still working on mine. I'm planning on weaning them off the extra wheel in the near (not too near) future.

I lost her reply as I rode off - I'm guessing like most dog owners she was telling me her dog wasn't dangerous, and that it was all my own fault if it ran in front of me when not on a lead (or bit me - was so tempted to get off and show her the bite mark scabs on my leg from a bike ride last week, from a dog who was "really gentle").
Not a quote, and don't want to hijack, but I wanted to share my own dangerous dog experience:

I was on 29er on a pretty fast downhill when a tiny, unleashed dachsund ran out right in front of me. I had to dismount off the front and because of my downhill speed the front handle slammed squarely into the pavement, nose first, just missing the dog.

A few more inches and the cute little thing would have been ended.

I was at a music festival up in the mountains just riding around, jumping on boulders and bombing down hills. A group of trippin hippy folk were watching me and one of them yelled out "Hey someone had to do it, glad it's not me!" It gave me a good chuckle.

I wanted to do just what that guy did to one of the few random riders i have come across when I didn't have my wheel with me. The guy told me i couldn't try it because i might try to steal it. I know it might have looked like that if I had gotten a chance to hop on and just take off, but i cant think of anything more awesome than letting someone try and having them ride back and say btw i can totally ride one of these my names . . . nice to meet you.

Little girl on a bike

"I heard your nickname was Tony Hawk!"

I suppose I've been called worse.

I presume comments from non-randoms who don't (yet) ride are allowed? At the end of 5yo's football (soccer) practice this evening:

"My dad's over there, he's on a unicycle"

at which the parents of his best friend look round with a grin - "as always" I replied!

I also have to admit to a certain pride that my 3yo has "unicycle" in his vocabulary.

Guy says to me, "Man, I've seen them on TV but never the real thing." Which begs the question: What the hell does he watch on television?

In Las Vegas I once picked up the phone at a friends house (while he was in the garden)... then I suddenly was talking directly with Tony Hawk..!

Well, maybe not the biggest crap
But I'm wondering, does the amount of television-watching allow him to get enough reality from the real?

It could be anything. Maybe top story news reports about electricity bills...

Not from today (or recently even) but still a great reply:
walker: "hey nice jacket" (I was wearing my Montain Prizm at the time)
My second best is:
biker: "I'm not gonna state the obvious"
Third, simply for the hilarious chav accent:
Chav in car: "get off the f****ing road ya w**kers"

If he was young enough, he might have actually meant "computer" or, more specifically, "YouTube" - my 7-year-old only has a very fuzzy concept of the difference between the two!
