My thoughts are as follows:

First of all, Christian, that video has some insane tricks, and a ton of stuff I always wanted to do, but didn't have the technical skill. Fantastic!

Next, I will speak of the competition. This NAUCC is going to be a lot different because there are actually a bunch of good riders. I hope that it works out well, and I can give my advice from experience.

First of all, talk to the organizers as soon as possible about what will be used for the competition. I don't know what rules you all are using, but if it is zones, everyone knows that I suggest a grinding zone, a manny pad zone, and big stairset zone. If it's not zones, hopefully it is a well thought out course that works well. If they are giving zones that suck, push for them to build something better. You guys are all putting in a ton of money to get to this competition, so you deserve something decent.

And my thoughts on judging. Shaun, I think your comments are misguided. Street competitions have not been around for 10 years. The first one was held in like 2005. Also, if you're using zones, the rules were made to encourage more leeway for falling. However, recently, winning riders have been landing about 80% of their tricks, which is awesome. But with people not trying to land their most impressive tricks, then it's not fun to watch. As I wrote the rules for zones, I envisioned people landing about 5 real bangers per zone, out of about 10 tries. I didn't intend for judges to have to pick between two riders, one who landed 11 little tricks, and one who landed 11 different little tricks. So whoever takes the lead on judging at this one, I hope they push that attitude in judges and riders. It will be great to have some street riders as judges, but try to stay unbiased, and write down every single trick that was landed, and make the scores available to anyone who wants to see them.

Good luck, and I can't wait til the next one that I can be involved in!

I think I'd be really good at judging.. I know every street/flat unicyclist's stance, including forward foot, spinning direction, twisting direction, and flipping hand.

But I really want to compete too.. I think I'll do street again this year, and possibly judge next year. This year there are some freaking awesome riders competing.

I say stick to your dominant everythings, use everything, know your route before you do it, have an idea of how you'll flow around, do tricks that you don't miss, and don't repeat any trick. Consistancy - 10, Park Usage - 10, Variaty - 10, It will be on difficulty and smoothness (also "bigness"). I'm not completely sure how the judging catagories go, but that's your safest bet.

The first one I know of was at the 2004 California MUni Weekend, Lake Tahoe (Lloyd Johnson's driveway, to be exact).
