I have. It's great for sand. It's not as good as a Duro for anything else.

Just got back from a ride on Larry, what a steam roller! I hadn't ridden it for a few weeks, so the pressure was down to like 8psi, which was really sluggish, so for kicks I bumped it to 14psi and man was it fast, like too fast! So I dropped it to 12psi and things slowed down a bit.

I've ridden mine in snow, mud, rocks, hardpack, lots of trail miles and all I can say is if you have the legs, Larry is the tire. Even my son, who said he'd never give up his 24 x 3 (Intense DH) said that he'd rather ride the Larry

I run mine with 170 QuAx chomoly cranks, all the power you could want and then some.

That said, it is a bit of work making it go, esp climbs and off angle trails. I did a race, 8.5 mile loops, mix of easy to difficult single track, forst loop I did on my 29 x 2.4, second lap I did on Larry. Larry was harder in some ways, but it was still doable even if it wasn't an ideal use. Larry works best in tech stuff, mushy and slippery, and of course on the down.

Well I'd never give up the tread of the duro - if anything I need more tread for when it gets muddy round here. I do uphill, downhill, dry, wet and I can't imagine having less tread. When dropping off onto a steep slope you need all the grip you can get and although I'd like to try a larry for snow/less technical MUni, I wouldn't change to it from my duro.

Josh,

I forgot to tell you that I am also 5'6" with a 29-30 inseam and there is plenty of adjustment to allow you to ride a 29" easily.
