Tom Kelley and Unicycle.com in Atlanta Journal

One of my guys here at work was looking through the AJC this morning and noticed a guy on a Uni. It was about one of the people who I had seen posting on this forum. Tom Kelley, 45, Atlanta.

[quote] TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT

TOM KELLEY, 45, ATLANTA

I have always been fascinated by the idea riding a unicycle. Last year I found out about a shop called Unicycle.com in Marietta. Even though I had never been on a Uni, I visited the shop, attempted to ride one, fell on my butt a few times, and walked out the door with my new wheel in hand. It cost $200. "I spent the first few days wobbling on my deck and grasping onto the rail. After about a week I ventured into my back yard. Another week and I could ride 50 feet. Another month and I found myself riding around Grant Park and Piedmont Park. Riding a Unicycle is great exercise and a lot of fun. I gained a lot of confidence from learning a new skill.(But mostley it's neat because people don't expect to run accross people riding a unicycle!)"[quote]

There was also a picture of Tom in the article of Tom on his Unicycle in what looks like Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta.

This was in a special section of the paper so I wasn't able to find it online. It may be there somewhere, I just couldn't find it.

Hey Bugman,

Yeah that's me! I'm a layout designer at the paper, and a co-worker
asked me to write the item to kick off that feature, and I said sure why
not. I had a lot of fun with it and was pleased at how it came out. Hope
you were too.

The item didn't make it online because they were re-working the website
as the new Access Atlanta section in the paper debuted and just didn't
have time to add it on. :-(

Thanks for noticing the article and alerting the group. I think this is
the third unicycle-in-the-newspaper posting in about a month or six
weeks. We're on a roll!

Here is the article and photo

My brother, who lives in Atlanta, sent me the article and I scanned it. The Georgia boys are apparently too busy making moonshine to scan it. I have a 4Mb, 500 dpi version if someone wants it.

No Moonshine I don't even drink. Unfortunately I have no scanner either, or I would have gladly scanned it.
