"stupid 24"" was referring to the fact that I had to ride my 20" wheelset in a 24" frame for a while, which meant for a lot of knee hitting :P I love my 24" uni when it's got the right wheelset in it
There've been some pretty big changes in Morecambe & Lancaster. Loads of new apartment buildings, the cinema being demolished to make way for a new (yet to be built) travelodge, loads of shops refurbed and pubs changing their names. The sort of changes you see in many towns, I guess...
Only been riding this year, really only spending any time at it since summer. Done some rougher stuff recently, muddy and bumpy but not really proper Muni - still got a long way to go before I feel like I could hook up with any of the Muni riders - can't do rolling hops, idling, mounting is still a bit hit and miss (especially after a riding for a bit and the legs are tired) and need to work on climbing!
Still having a great laugh on my 24" Club, thinking about what to get next. Think I'm leaning to XC/Muni, on the whole, but I'm waiting until I've found a few more routes and have settled on a style before deciding whether to go for 24 (might upgrade my Club a bit in that case), 26 or 29 next.
It's definitely worth you coming up to ride the Prom, it's a great ride - especially if it's fair weather and the Lake District can be seen to the North and to the South Westish the lumps and bumps of the North Wales coast too. I might be upto riding further at a future date too
Yeah there are plenty of rides for this weekend. Hey I just checked out Blackpool Promanade road on Google Street View. Oo-er that looks like a nice long section to ride your uni. Even worth me coming up there at a future date.
I take it that means Blackpool? I spend regular weekends in Liverpool area but I live in Wales of course. I'm up in Liverpool area for a long weekend this weekend. Will probably have the N36 with me and find a ride.
