Hmmm... I think it mostly just takes practice. Try to get the ball of your foot on the tire, and keep your kicking foot's heel away from the frame

i have this little rail at my house that i can do, there are some rails at my skatepark that i have grinded a little and then jumped off. they are the same to grind, but rails are harder to commit to i think. and they're usually higher than ledges, but thats not always the case

Hahahaha, dude awesome! I remember my first crankflips. I landed one, and during that day I did so many that by the end I had them so I never fell off. I got them up curbs and down curbs and everything Then the next day I got hickflips xD

XD, awesome man. Sounds like you'll just need a little more practice. I think once you've landed a few crankflips you'll feel quite different about them

You'll never get hurt trying a crankflip on flat.

Dude, I had the same problem for about 3-4 months. Do NOT let yourself try them for that long without commiting. It's a huge waste of time on a trick that is easier than 180 unispins (which I'm assuming you can do). You just gotta have confidence, stay over it, kick hard, and land it. Just commit!!!
