Martha! You're still here. I dropped out for a while. Rode a little bit last year, but not enough to mention, really. Great to see you're still at it. You really are an inspiration

Glad this worked and that you are still following the forum! Yes - I really enjoyed reading about you and the trip to Wales to see Alucard.

Hi - I'm 50 yr old guy just getting back on a uni after 33 yr break. I wanted something to strengthen my core and help with back issues I have from time to time. I saw in one of your posts you said "The 24" is still my best bet. The 26" hurts my back, and the 29" is just for kicks at the moment."

I'm curious because I bought a 26" Nimbus and just wondering why that size was giving you back trouble?

    Hi 57UniRider,

After responding to your friendly PM last week, I checked my messages and I wasn't certain that my reply to you made it through.

In that regard, I'll recap my response. My Muni is the Nimbus Oregon. The rim size is 26", the tire is 3.8" wide. The Muni standing next to a 36" looks to be the same overall height. It's a very comfortable and enjoyable ride.

Loved riding it in Yosemite Valley. Got real busy with LBUSD right after vacation and havent had a chance to ride lately. Can't wait, though.

    Hope your voice is back.

Stay upright and on one wheel.

    Hi Martha,

I hope you are well and had a good weekend. You are now on my 'friends' list, and I've sent you a request to be yours.

I've saved the link to the website, if you scroll down all the way to the bottom you'll see me under the heading 'customer of the day'

Chris is also a day off today, so we are off out in a few minutes to look at motors for glider props. ooooh so exiting...not! I hope we are home before it goes dark so I can go cycling.

    All for now,

    Hey, 57UniRider,

I've been following your posts and am playing a hunch. Your struggles with distance seem familiar. I spent three rugged months unable to go more than about 200 feet. I've seen a few of your comments about how tired your legs get, and I had the same problem.

I bought a new 24" model, and a friend who's a bicyclist watched me ride and said I wasn't getting full extension. So I raised the seat so that when I stand with the cycle, the seat is right at or just under my navel.

All of a sudden, it seemed, I was able to ride a quarter mile up my street. I can now ride a mile without much fuss, and yesterday morning I rode two complete miles without a single dismount.

I took out my old unicycle - a 24" garage sale find - and discovered the seat post was too short to push the saddle up to my navel. No wonder I couldn't ride very far.

In any event, I figured if it worked for me (I turn 55 in a few weeks), it might be of some help to you.

    Keep on rolling,
