I ended up going with the Maxxis Crossmark. It fits a bit better, and rolls really nicely on hardpack.

Have done two 25km races with it, and no complaints.

I have also seen a newer 29 Cross, and it looks like they have fixed the clearance some since I got it.

    Hi mtb,

I just read in a post that u also have the qu-ax cross 29" and think/thought about trying a different tyre.
Did u have any luck with other ones than the original Kenda Karma? I don't understand why they constructed the fork with such a tight fit on 2.2" tyres.
I consider the Kenda Nevegal (If I can get it anywhere), but perhaps it would also work with the Maxxis Ardent which has 2.25".
Would be great if you could share ur experience regarding tyres on this qu-ax!

    Best Greetings from Austria, Florian
