Recommend a unicycle?

I'm looking to get a unicycle to start learning, and came across this unicycle:

I want to eventually learn a few tricks, and maybe jump up and down the curb. Would this unicycle hold up? My specs: 5ft9in, about 125lbs and an inseam length of 30". if not this one, any other recommendations? I'd like to spend the least, without compromising quality.

Road Tubeless

What kind of PSI do some of you guys run in your tubeless 36ers on the road?

I was riding 55 PSI with a tube, but don't want to blow my tire off the rim now that I'm tubeless. I have it at something like 45 right now, but may need to take that down to the 40 PSI max that Stans recommends.

Have any of you run higher PSI's in tubeless setups?

This spring we will be having a unicycle weekend in Canmore AB. The even is still very much in the works but I thought I would let people know what is happening. If you have any objections to the dates please let me know. I would like to get an idea of numbers before the final schedule is released. (More people more choices) The event will be mostly muni but there will also be some skills related sessions ie: trials, flatland, street, and skills park. More info coming soon!

Need a freestyle uni?

I've been trying to walk the wheel for almost a year now. Stuck on 10-13 kicks then I start veering off to the left. Yes I know lean back..toe, heel, toe etc.

Someone told me that I'd be better off on a freestyle uni. I am learning wheel walking on a kh20 long neck. Do you think my slow going is due to the trials wheel, or do I just suck? I do have an old 24 inch sem. Would that be easier?

We say a top of the line unicycle is cheeper than a low end bike. True, but how expensive could you actually make a unicycle. Post what you can think up and how much it would cost. It doesn't have to be mainstream components but as long as you can buy it somewhere it counts. Geared carbon fiber 36er?

Anyways, post what unicycle you would buy if you had thousands to spend on it.

after a double bad luck with damaged rim and brake line, I am thinking about upgrading.

So here is for sale a set of KH Moment (lighter edition) dual 137 - 165mm in mint condition (only 2 rides).

For an extra $10, I will leave on the Truvativ M12 bolts with self-extracting rings (as seen on the pic -- very useful).

The Stomach for UNI

So I'm a rather tall (6'5'') middle ager of moderate build (low 200's if it's not too close to a Holiday.) I'm rather dexterous and can bike, slackline, juggle and dance.

I'd like to add unicycling to my repertoire, but I have a concern; I look like I'm smuggling a basketball under my shirt. I have a huge protruding gut and can't see my shoes (size 12's).

I'm sure Unicycling is great exercise (at least as good as light aerobic activity I'm already getting) but Will Unicycling TARGET my abs and burn my belly down to some semblance of human (non-alien) proportions?

Spokes breaking

Never thought I'd run into this problem...

So I've been riding my unicycle for over a year without issue. All of a sudden, a few weeks ago I broke a spoke on my 29er. I broke it at the elbow (where it meets the hub flange) and didn't even notice until I got home and saw it. Bought some spare spokes, replaced it, life moves on.

Fast forward to today. Went on a ride, whatever. Got home, noticed I have another spoke broken at the elbow (same place as other spoke). It is a different spoke, but it's only two spokes away from the one I already replaced.

From what I've read, this seems to be due to bad spoke tension. I went around flexing my spokes and flicking them. I get around 1/4 to 1/2" flex when I squeeze two spokes together, and they all sound pretty close to the same pitch-wise.

So do I go around my wheel and tighten all my spokes 1/4 or a 1/2 turn? More? Less?

Am I screwed and need to get new spokes and totally relace my wheel?

Should I stop unicycling forever because I didn't maintain my equipment properly and I'm a bad person? :p (That's a joke.)

My spokes are stainless, 14g, 284mm, yadda-yadda.

Hey guys, I'm not really riding as much as I used to and need the cash. Found a bunch of stuff laying around. I'll ship anywhere, shipping cost is on you though. I'm located in Chicago. Payment through PayPal.

First item- KH Fusion Freeride Blue Saddle. It is new and unused but it is missing a lift handle. $55

KH Moments 137mm. New and never used. $60

FEELER: Kris Holm 20" Trials. Used and beat to hell. This is the release before the reinforced frame, not certain of the year. Wheelset has been kept in okay condition. Kept decently trued throughout the years and no spokes broken. Tire in need of treads, seat cover ripped. Seat base is flexible and not very firm anymore. But it has a cool custom paint job! That's gotta be worth something. I'll throw in a set of plastics or wellgo's with purchase. Make an offer, not sure I want to see it go even if it has potential buyers just because it was my first real uni.

Giro Blaze 2 XL gloves. New. $15. Bought for a motorcycle but I'm sure they would work for unicycling.

Mystery Seat Post. New. $5. No I don't know the manufacturer. No I don't know the dimensions. No I don't know why you would want to buy this.

Koxx 24 Butterfly Pedals (unsealed? sealed? I can't find anything about these). New and in box. I'm going to assume they're an earlier generation if they made multiple releases. $45.

Wellgo Pedals. New. They have reflectors on them! Oh boy! Make an offer.

Assorted used pedals. Honestly, the right ones might be worth getting if you're constantly destroying them. I grind on the left side and obliterate the left pedals frequently. I probably have about half a dozen more right pedals laying around in my garage. The white odysee set, the left pedal has a crack in it but it is still okay for casual riding while the right is completely new. Orange odysee is in solid condition. The eastern plastics I believe are good (pins missing on half of left pedal). They're very old though. I'll sell them for super cheap, whatever you feel is fair as long as it's worth my time to walk across the street to the post office to ship it. If you're in the market for right pedals then let me know and I can probably find a couple more.

I've also got a Torker LX 20" in good condition. It's got a pretty sweet burgundy frame. I'd be selling it for someone though so consider it also a feeler. No pictures but in good condition. Make an offer as well.

I was just looking through 'Unicycle Product Reviews' when I realised that a lot of the threads there aren't reviews - namely the custom KH and triton thread.

Maybe a 'Post What You got' forum is in order.

Just a suggestion...
